Anna Carlyle has wanted to write since she was first introduced to the joys of escapism with a school assignment to imagine herself as an ‘Armchair Traveller’. The love of words led to a personal collection spilling out of numerous Billy bookcases into storage boxes, and it remains her ambition to have a library capable of accommodating every book, with room for more.
Anna’s greatest joy when writing is when her characters tell her what they want to say and do. Sometimes they can be most insistent. Her writing is full of unashamed wish fulfillment, because really, what’s the point of creating another world unless it’s just that bit more fun to live in than the real one?
When not reading or writing, Anna loves walking in nature with her camera, getting her hands dirty in her garden (and feeding the visiting wildlife), dancing to music as if nobody’s watching and enjoying a glass or two of wine.
